It was late July in 1963 and my 21st birthday. I lived in an apartment on the second floor with my husband and our three little daughters , ages four, three and one. I can still see my dad and mom coming up the steep old wooden stairs. He was carrying a “high fi,” - that’s what they were called in those days - and she was carrying Bob Dylan. I had never heard of Dylan, and to this day I don’t know how my mom heard of him. She wasn’t into music at all. But she got it right.

I noticed Bob's work a few years ago and was amazed to realize that so many of the songs I have loved are his.As well as many I did not know yet. I have been to a couple of his concerts and they are very addictive as the fans actually love him. It is the air at these concerts. But this the Christmas CD and the donations going to charity. WOW!

I was thinking the other day how did I get to become a dedicated Dylan fan. Maybe some of you wonder about that sometimes. Of course, I was aware of his well known hits like "Blowing in the Wind" and "The Times are achanging" before and I thought that was it to Dylan. Then one day, I heard he had played for the Pope at a Bologna Catholic Youth event. The juxtaposition of Dylan and the Pope kind of blew me away and filled me with loads of questions. Like why did the Pope invite a Jew, that I associated with the Swinging Sixties and hippies, to a Eucharistic event? And why did Dylan go?

It has been almost a year now since i discovered Bob Dylan and i love his songs more and more every day. I am only sixteen years old so i guess that makes me a pretty young fan. I live in Norway, but here there is not one sixteen year old that i know that listens to Dylan. But i got to say I kind of like it. It gives me a special feeling. like im the only one that can see the greatness of the songs. Most people my age says that Dylan wrights good songs but that his voice is shit. I love his voice and I think he his one of the best singers to make people listen to the words and lyrics.

In the deep woods of Virginia, I was raised by a band of Foxes in and around the hollow of an old Oak tree. Well now, them Foxes raised me right. I got big and strong and said, "Thank you and fare thee well" to my family of Foxes and off I went to California . Now years later, I'm a think'n maybe I'll hop a East bound train to Ol'Kentuck. I hear it's good canoeing there. I love canoeing, I also love playing the acoustic guitar & the harp and I sing alittle too. I play Bob's tunes mostly. Yep, I know all Bob's tunes.....
