film and soundtrack are great!!
These outtakes are better than most albums
This complements a great film. The alternate versions and live verisons of the songs are fascinating. Baby Blue, Mobile, and Maggies farm are great.

The 1st disc is magnificent i really enjoyed listening to this album.
New songs
I like how you get to hear some his REALLY early stuff, "I got Troubles" must have been recorded in about '60 or '61, correct me if I'm wrong, but that would probably be the only reason for me buying this album. The documentary is amazing as well.
He Was Young When He Left Home
This is imho the weakest of the bootleg series albums - but don't let that stop you from purchasing it. There are definitely some gems to be had here, especially on the 1st disk. I was Young When I Left Home is terrific - i'm not sure which song came first, Peter Paul and Mary's 500 Miles or this one, but they obviously are related to one another in some way.
Fantastic film and soundtrack
I loved watching this film. The bonus tracks are gems and the soundtrack is awesome.
More Than a Compilation
While this would appear as more of a greatest hits type compilation, the version of Desolation Row and Visions of Johanna on here make this work picking up and rating as an entity onto itself.

A Brilliant film

Scorsese really succeeded in capturing Dylan at his very best in "No Direction home". I only can hope he does the "George Harrison" film just as good as he did this

Soundtrack?
Less a soundtrack and more an excuse to mine the vaults for more outtakes and unreleased recordings. It's all good.
