Are you kidding

Just left the Houston show. John actually said and I quote "do you want to hear old or new stuff" every one said old and he said "I have the Mic. and am louder so am I going to play something from the 3rd Babtists church from three weeks ago" are you kidding me. I went to this show to hear some great music. Mellen head ruined it for all. The crowd was dead except for the fifteen people or so that stood up. He played mostly new music. The Bob Dylan show is not the place to try and sell new music. Everyone around us were shocked at this horrible show. He finished on a good note, but the rest was terrible. Bob was good as always, and so was Willie, opening with Whiskey River. I am 41, wife 25, spanning a big gap of time and we were both disappointed. I paid for the tickets, not John, We both have seen him before and were happy, we cannot say that this time. People did not come to hear new John, we came to hear the old. If I am wrong then so be it. But if you are going to this show expecting old John, the you will be very disappointed. He tells you what you are going to hear, even though he request music from the crowd. Willie opens and is ok, actually great in comparison to John. Bob does the same ol' same ol'.

I was correct: no cameras allowed

Well, I answered my own question. I visited the Bulls' website again and clicked on a link to TicketReturn—I was mistaken when I said I'd bought the tickets through eTix—and there is now a notice that no cameras or recording devices are allowed. That was not on there when I bought the tickets, nor was the $8.50 "convenience" charge (it was, like, $1.50 during the presale), so I guess I lucked out there!

Boo at the no camera policy. What, afraid your soul will disappear if I take a snapshot of you? I jest! Sort of. Ah, well, at least I can focus more on drinking and dancing if I'm not worrying about taking photos.

No cameras at the Bob Dylan Show?

Hey, folks, I just went to the Bob Dylan Show at Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA, on Saturday night. I did not get any notice from Ticketmaster, Harbor Park/the Norfolk Tides, or BobDylan.com, that there would be no cameras allowed at the show, so I assumed it was cool to take mine. The security person who checked my bag told me—rudely, I might add—that I'd have to return it to my car 3/4 of a mile away before I was allowed entry (which I did—boo—and was annoyed because I bought at the presale and was supposed to get into the venue before the regular sale ticketholders).

Now I'm going to see the same show at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) in Durham, NC, tonight. Again, I can find no camera policy on eTix, the Bulls' website, or BobDylan.com. Is the no camera policy a Bob Dylan thing or a Ticketmaster thing? Or both? Should I assume none of these shows allows cameras or that some of them do and some of them don't? Has anyone here been allowed to take a camera to one of the shows on the current tour?

I'm an amateur photographer and enjoy taking photos at shows more than just about anything. Obviously, I'll enjoy the show regardless of whether or not I can capture it on film, but I'd prefer to have those images to remind me of the killer time I had. Plus, I'm starting to think Bob Dylan is a figment of my imagination: although tonight will mark the fifth time I've seen him perform live, I have no photographic evidence of my own to substantiate the claim that he actually exists.

Bob's shows

are from a singer-songwriter, not an "entertainer." The 1st show I saw, the only spoken words were to introduce the band. The 2nd show, he didnt even do that (forgot I think as it was at the beginning of the tour.) It would be great if he just said 'Hello everybody," but he is still touring and that is the best!

hmmmmmmmm, far 2 into himself?

i happen 2 disagree, bob dylan is self less. if he were doing this 4 himself he would of stopped by now. he will tell u straight out "its this dream of u that keeps me living on". i suspect, like anything else in life, u get out of it what u put into it.
people say oh his voice is awful, but if u truely listen carefully, u will find that isnt the case. i dont think i have ever heard ANYONE sing a love song like bob dylan. and that includes frank sinatra, elvis preseley, AND michael jackson.
there is only one person i can think of who can write a better love poem than bob dylan, but she is a woman, sara teasdale. and i would say william shakespeare is on par with him in the poetry dept.
go put on the second cut of 2gether thru life and tell me u dont cry. his voice and the lyrics are so stunningly beautiful u cant help but cry. and he can do that live. what u see is what u get with bob dylan, he is real.

Concert at Consol Energy Park 7-13

I truly hope Bob Dylan puts on a better performance this year than he did a few years back at Consol Energy Park. Being a big Dylan fan for way too many years, I was so disappointed with this concert it wasn't even funny. Mr. Dylan was way to far into himself and his "new" music for that concert. He really disappointed the audience that nite. We all felt ripped off -- big time -- which is the reason I won't be attending this one. Let's hope "Times are a changin'" and this year will be a better concert -- for the fans, not for Dylan's ego..

Stockton Show

Hi Y'all-

I received my tickets for the Stockton show the other day in a plain white envelope, addressed by hand with no return address! I thought that was odd. Wouldn't you think they would be computer labeled with the ballpark's team logo and address in the return address? I wonder if anyone else going to that show received their tickets the same way. But it's alright, ma, I love a good mystery!

Happy Trails....

LAS VEGAS CONCERT

I believe the concert would have sold out in Vegas, if there was enough advertisement (billboards, commercials, newspaper advertisements), but I did not see ANY commercials on tv, or anything mentioning the concert at Cashman Field. I noticed it on Bob's website. I CANNOT believe that the people in Las Vegas would not want to see THREE wonderful legends in show business at a price that was a BARGAIN in a place like Vegas. They could have chosen a place with a little less heat than Cashman Field (maybe Cox Pavillion? Or the Thomas and Mack?). We went to see Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood last night at the MGM Grand Arena and the place looked SOLD OUT!!!! Those tickets were priced from 57.00 to OVER 100+ so, I KNOW Vegas fans will spend their money to see Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. A lot of people in Vegas wait until the LAST MINUTE to purchase tickets, but they DO go to concerts. Most people show up at the LAST MINUTE. We got to the concert last night early, and we thought that the concert was not sold out. But after 8:00 (concert time) people swarmed in like flies!!!! A lot of times, Vegas is slow about selling tickets, because you have to realize that Vegas is a tourist town, and believe it or not, most people wait to buy a ticket until they arrive here, or actually know for sure, they are going to be here at that time. A lot of people do not want to purchase a ticket too early until they know for sure that they are going to be here. Eric Clapton had LOTS of ads in the newspaper and tv ads MONTHS before their concert. We bought our ticket in APRIL for this concert. I believe if more people knew about this concert, and if the tickets would have been selling a little longer, it would have sold out, just like Clapton/Winwood did.

Dylan, please. Go back to Brazil.
There are thousands of people who want to see it again ....

Hi everyone! I can only

Hi everyone!

I can only imagine how I would feel if they had to cancel the show I hope to attend....what a let down that would be~ especially since I haven't been to a concert in more years than I can recall! And this one has Bob and Willy! wow....

I'll be going to one of the performances in Texas with my 24 year old daughter. She just got her first teaching job (music, elementary ed.) so this should be interesting, to hear her reaction to one of my favorite musicians/artists of all time! :)

I noticed the ballpark rules state "no lawn chairs" so I'm going to smuggle in two plastic kids' swimming rings for comfort. Will blow them up once we get seated on the lawn...haha, and plan to arrive early since I ordered the pre-sale tickets online. With that in mind, I was wondering if anyone might know what time to arrive (to stand in line) to be sure we can be one of the first ones in. I'd really love to be up close to the stage on the lawn. Thanks.

(PS) Just read the Captcha math question before submitting this post.... SO glad it wasn't trigonometry!

please dont do that

u will regret it. 40 years is a long time2 wait. maybe this is fate's way of telling u that u should get out of town and do some travelling. live a little! i know u r disappointed but look at this as an opportunity 2 step outside ur box and enjoy!
i was planning on seeing michael jackson but now it is toooooo late. dont make the same mistake with bob dylan.

Cancelled...again

Twice I've bought tickets to see Bob Dylan in Vegas, twice he cancelled. First time with Phil Lesh, now this. I've been a Dylan fan as long as I can remember. Right now I'm not in the mood to listen. And cancelling Willie, too. Maybe ticket sales would have been better if you guys would have let people know about the show? The price was ok, the heat is just part of the show in Vegas. 40 years and I still haven't seen Dyaln. Ain't to sure I'd ever buy another ticket.

being flashed in the streets these days, so is ur mild statement about lakewood nj. 2 correct u, lakewood is not very close 2 the shore at all. it is west of the parkway. i live on a strip of land between a salted river and the ocean twenty miles north. why? u coming over? should i hide the silverware? and its blueCLAWS not blueJAYS. the asbury park sound was acoustically a nightmare, bobs voice and the oceans gentle crash against the shore sounded perfect that night...... he arrived early, dropped off a woman on a bed, slept over blocks from my house and was gone b4 the first firework exploded on the boardwalk. 9 months has past and i am still afraid 2 open the package, much less look at it or touch it!

Kate

Lakewood New Jersey is about as close to the Jersey Shore as one could get!My parents live on the Jersey Shore and have season passes to the "Bluejay's games.Where are you from?Bob just played in convention hall in Asbury Park, which is right on the beach, last year. The Harlem Globe Trotters played there, have you ever heard of them? They originally came from Harlem.I went to Greek ceremonies there, that's why I'm so full of hate and anger.Never saw the light and cried the blues all night!.I was planning on seeing Bob play in Asbury Park, but couldn't make.My youngest brother went instead. He said it was awesome, but of course like we all know and need to accept Bob,s voice is changing.

Willie in Vegas,or Bob Whatever

These things happen, whenever an artist is to appear,or even you are to appear at a live show, there is no tellin' what is gonna come down.I was given a ticket to see Willie once it was a gift. The show was in Vegas. The plane was late, the taxi driver rode around the block twenty-five times at my expense, and I almost didn't make it.I felt kind of disrespectful, when I had to walk in late.It was a front row seat, and then I had to leave to get a drink, because there was" no time to drink!"------I'm sorry for ya'll's disappointment. But look at it this way Waylon Jennings missed a flight once!----and in amongst his sorrow,he still had to feel blessed.------There's a reason for everything, stay home and make enchiladas!---Don't let it bring you down!

Got your tickets?

Just wondering if anyone has received their tickets by mail for the show in Stockton, CA.? I received my Lake Tahoe tix, but not the Stockton tix, which is the day before. In my zealous efforts to recycle anything made of paper, I hope I didn't think it was junk mail and accidently tossed it!

vegas show

wow ticketmaster just send me a note about the show in vegas being cancelled... i just feel very disapointed cause i live in mexico and i already bought my plane ticket to vegas, payed my hotel and my pre-sale ticket, the purpose of this trip was exclusively to watch dylan live for the first time, so i just feel like i spent almost one grand for F nothing. anyway shit happens.....does anyone thinks a miracle could happen and re.schedule de vegas concert?? ok maybe not...hope the managers of bobby know how much they affected some people....

LAS VEGAS CANCELLATION

I just got a newsflash from the Las Vegas Sun, for the reason of cancellation. Here it is.....

"Jam Productions announced this afternoon that an Aug. 12 concert at Cashman Field, featuring Bob Dylan, has been cancelled.

John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson also had been scheduled to appear.

Refunds will be available at the point of purchase, the Las Vegas 51s announced.

Jam official Don Sullivan apologized about the cancellation and inconvenience to fans. He said this is Dylan’s third tour of minor-league ballparks.

“And for some reason, it was not well-received in the (Las Vegas) market place,” Sullivan wrote in an e-mail. “Maybe the ticket price, maybe the summer heat, maybe the wrong venue (or) economy …

“But for some reason, ticket sales were nowhere near what they should have been, based on what our business is and has been. We thought it was in the best interest to cancel.”

Can you believe THAT???? The ticket price was perfect... AND A BARGAIN. To see Bob, Willie, and John at the price of 67.00 IS TOO GOOD OF A DEAL IN LAS VEGAS!!!! Just look at the prices of what people are paying to see a show in Las Vegas, with ONLY ONE PERFORMER!!!! (100.00 +)
I could just cry!!!! :(

Las Vegas cancellation

What is annoying me today is that last night the August 12 gig in Las Vegas was still on the schedule. This morning it has been removed, WITH NO EXPLANATION! I know of a few people that this has made them concerned as to whether Bob is OK. My friend had an early admit ticket, and I think that if ticket holders for the Las Vegas show had early admit tickets they should be offered the same at another venue. But I still think that fans deserve an explanation as to WHY this particular gig was cancelled.

ouch

i feel 4 ya. but schlepping in the dessert in the dog days of summer with all that stuff is ridiculous, not 2 mention out of the way, however, bob dylan would and has done that 4 u many times b4. my guess something broke down contractually or logistically.
if u ask me, i think bob dylan should park it on the jersey shore and pick a spot in the sand 2 play in all summer. times r a changing, let people come 2 him instead of him travelling every leg of the tour. he can pick any place on the face of the earth and call it his broadway. that is the bob dylan show.

conert cancelled?

My friend in Las Vegas is very upset, she just got a message from Ticketmaster that the show out there has been cancelled. What gives? Is this the only one, or is this going to be happening with some of the other gigs? I'm going to the one in New Britain, CT next month. Is that one still on?

LAS VEGAS SHOW CANCELLED?????????????

I just read on Ticketmaster that the Las Vegas show is CANCELLED. WHAT IS GOING ON?????????? WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Come on, SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!! IS THIS A DREAM???? Somebody say SOMETHIN'!!!!!

these r the best of times, having a month or so 2 get focused and ready 4 a summer that may bring a wealth of culture down the pike. its always a nice feeling 2 know the future holds the promise of seeing the bob dylan band again, which has been a souce of constant pleasure and learning. when u hear the birds chirp b4 dawn, u just know something BIG is on the horizon and u r filled with the joy of being alive.

this june is just one big chirp for the july 2009 n.e.t. ahead.
i look forward 2 seeing bob dylan, he is a feast 4 my senses AND refreshes my soul.

Still waiting....

I think my postman just might be a snail.

RE: Las Vegas heat

Yeah, I wasn't thinking. You are right, we should think about the performers. AND WE DO. Hopeful, they will have mist systems and blowers on stage for them and PLENTY of water!!! They should be fine, if they have something set up for them. I sure they will if it does get to or over 100 degrees. Also, sometimes in mid August there is a monsoon season and it could be cloudy around that time!!!!

code

Aren't you the smart one! Thanks for the heads up.

Ticket Pre-Sale

For all the folks getting up in arms about the pre-sale tickets and the early admission, I have tickets for two shows and both feature the first few letters of the passwords I typed in to buy them. Have a look at your tickets and see if the password is printed on the top right side. I assume the system is the same for all shows.

That's rather selfish

ya'll may not care about the heat, but it's not good for the performers.Think about Willie,Bobbie, and Bob.A little respect and a whole lot of appreciation, would be nice.Like quit bitchin' about every little problem, off key singing ect.or stay home! These guys put themselves on the line, enjoy it while you can.

RE:Whoever booked this tour

Thanks so much for coming to Las Vegas!!!!! Who cares about the weather!!!! I GUARANTEE that when Bob comes on stage, we won't even CARE about the heat!!! Bob will draw up his own heat when he gets on that stage!!!! I am just HAPPY that they chose to come to Vegas. I think it is wonderful that they chose to come here!!!! Think about it.... If they did not come to Vegas, we would be making arrangements to fly somewhere else to see him. THANKS BOB for thinking of Vegas, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Seeing Bob Dylan in Person

My philosophy is that just being in the same proximity is good enough for me. I KNOW that when you are at a Bob Dylan concert he WILL SHOW UP!!! And you know that he will be within a few feet (small setting) or many feet, (depending on your seating) if you are at an outdoor concert, but still in the same proximity, and THAT is good..... I know the odds of seeing him at a 7-11 or Kwik Mart is next to none. Like a Rollin' stone-

please Mr. Postman check and see...

Where oh Where are my tickets oh where can they be?
I have already been charged for them, but still no tickets....hmmmm. ?

Hi Kate!

You are right on! Anything that disrupts the show is just a distraction from the music and, although Bob usually handles such interruptions with grace and professionalism, it doesn't fulfill the intended fantasy.

YooHoo! BabyBlue!

I love how we are all SOOOOOO excited to see Bob! Myself included! However, your best chance at meeting Bob would be a chance encounter on a street or in a cafe late at night, keeping in mind that he is a master of disguises and surrounded by the best security in the business. If he wants to meet you, he will; otherwise, the chances are between slim and none. Sad, but it's the only way he can keep up any semblance of living a normal life in the public eye. I know it hurts that he is not as accessible as other performers may be, but put yourself in his boots and try to understand how it must be for him. He loves us, and that is why he continues to tour so much. If you are ever in the right place at the right time, you should thank every lucky star in the heavens you've ever seen and then cherish the moment forever!

yes

the kids from the 4ever yung variety

lol...

you are so right...i think i've seen on youtube some kids jump on stage while he's singing to meet and greet him, it's crazy...lol
i'm just so excited to just go to one of his concerts, hopefully many more :)

hmmmmmmmm, well

the closest i came 2 bob dylan was writing him love poetry and a few years back almost getting my head karate chopped off by baron, his bodyguard, 4 trying 2 deliver it 2 the bus. u must stay away, far away 4 security reasons, and please dont try 2 take pictures or make a movie, ur camera will be confiskated. my advice 2 u is, get as close as u want 2 bob dylan thru his music and he will always be at ur side when u need him most. and when u sit back and think about it, he really has shared so much with us, a lifetime of things 2 ponder. u want more? what do u want 2 do? jump on stage and sing with him in2 his mic with ur lips dangerously close 2 his??????

they tore down the sands casino in atlantic city as well as the old boston garden. things like this only exist in our minds.

Does the Pre Sale ticket have a special code on it?

I got tickets to the August Las Vegas concert, on the 25th of May, but we do not see a code or anything that says the tickets are pre sale. Is there a code or a difference in the way the ticket looks than the general tickets???

Back Stage Passes

Two years ago, we paid for "hot tickets" on the front row. The tickets came with a printed note which said to the effect that there would be no backstage meeting with Bob. Don't think he does that. In Texas with Willie at the same event, get there early for good seats. Hope you have made a playlist of the 120 songs Bob has sung on tour in the last 2-3 yrs. Listen to it and you will be ready to sing along!!!

Niether Bob or Willie

let alone Willie's sister Bobbie should be performing out in the heat. It's insane, but it's their ballgame!

Excited :)

So, I got my tickets on the 25th of May, going to fly to my home state Texas...Woohoo!!!....I can't wait :) I'm so happy, finally I get to go to my first Bob Dylan concert. Wish I could get backstage passes to meet him and take pictures...that would be so awesome :) Any ideas? If not, I'd still be happy to just be in the same place as him :)

I need some help.....PLEASE!!!!

This is yet another attempt for me to contact the correct person. I am trying to get a hold of someone that handles the tickets for concerts and such. I am interested in the July 10th concert that Bob Dylan will be preforming in Dayton, OH. I would not only like to get tickets to the concert (I know I can get those through places like Ticket Master) I am trying to see if there is a way to get back stage passes or something along those lines to actually be able to meet Bob Dylan. He is my boyfriends idol and I know Bob has been touring for quite some time and most likely won’t be touring for too much longer. This is why I’m trying so hard to get this done now. it would be such an amazing thing for him to actually be able to meet Bob Dylan. An experience of a lifetime! Can ANYONE give me any information on this or possibly be able to point me in the right direction please? I would greatly appreciate it.

Early admission for Pre-sale ticket holders.

How does early admission work for pre-sale ticket holders?
Were there only so many pre-sale tickets sold at each site?
My tickets have number 426 and 427 on them. Also, GA2.
Will someone with the tour please tell us how this works?

I know it's not original but happy birthday from italy, and please come back as soon as possible in europe. we just need it
