<];-}D>Snow Day
It's snowing today! The lawns and fields have a fresh cover.
The flakes resemble dinner plates being set on a grand table.
Far above the gray sky consists of clouds that hover,
As the windless storm drops it's load faster than I'm able
To respond with my shovel and clear my way.
I have no desire to proceed out the door into the cold.
The warmth of my shelter and the game of the day,
Keeps me cozy on my couch, my chores on hold.
Now the rain has come to take over the storm.
Fat flakes are replaced with cold drops that splatter.
A slushy mess will result and great blobs will form,
But at the moment in my comfy world the weather doesn't matter.

Wherever Mr.Dylan is and whatever he is doing for the holiday season, I think we can all agree that we wish him the best ever. May this season hold all the happiness, joy, and love for him (and his family) that his heart can hold. I have always wondered if he even had the time to read the wonderful posts his fans put on his website. After all, this IS his website, Right? I have also wondered if Bob himself has written something on his website under an assumed name like "Jack Frost". I really like his sense of humor when he does stuff like that!!! It’s okay, thank you for all the compliments, and yes I know that you are just teasing me. The part about rhythm changing from two’s and three’s was actually taken from Bob himself out of Chronicles. Although he may never have studied music theory formally, most musicians have knowledge of it anyway. He would have to inherently know keys signatures, tonic, dominant, chords etc., in order to compose a good song. For example, on the Tell Tale Signs album for “Can’t Wait,” he says before playing, “if we do it in B flat,” clearly indicating he knows some things, as well as pointed out in Chronicles. I was a music major, and now I am a music minor with a major in Medieval Studies. That is indeed my real picture. I sing, play guitar (Washburn D10, Fender DG3), and a little piano, and violin (all poorly I might add). That is indeed my real picture, and I also enjoy writing, although have never taken an formal creative writing classes either.

Critics (or people in general) tend to comment on that which they cannot understand. They feel that to criticize puts them in the dominant position and ultimately secures (in their mind) that the job has been done right. In order to understand Mr. Dylan’s music, you must not merely listen but experience it in full-- If you are not inclined to understand such things, are not of that personality, then you are most likely lost for the ability to understand any part of it. Most people simply listen to a song and fail to analyze all of its components in its entirety. They hear something they like or perhaps something that is catchy and it becomes a number one hit. However, to actually study the structure of the lyrics, the rhythm, the changes in tempo and composition from one album to another is lost to most. For example, few will notice that Bob had a time in his career where his songs changed in their structural components to be based on rhythms of three instead of two, which created a driving force that places simple/standard chords as secondary or even tertiary functions within the music. The elements become changed and suddenly you have a different way to play music. Now I will admit not everyone understands music theory, but to the untrained music ear the change is still audible. However, society is too fixated on the known instead of the unknown. Critics will merely listen to Mr. Dylan’s voice and say that his newest record is less than good. They don’t pay attention to the fact that although his voice is different than contemporary society, there is a reason for it…Also he hits all the notes in the song in tune. You might have the most angelic voice in the world, but if you are flat, good luck in getting others to listen. The moral of this is that critics will never be able to understand Dylan because they are blinded by their own inabilities, and ultimately they attempt to known which they can’t understand. I'm not blaming anyone or taking sides. To make peace it's necessary to give up more than either side thinks is fair. Otherwise there would have been no conflict in the first place. Right? It's not about who's right anyway, it's about respect.
Respect for others is a quality of character becoming to those able to display it. I wish to be respectful not because others have earned it but because abiding in a mode of respect is a matter of personal honor. What I can't otherwise accommodate I try to ignore trusting the Virtue itself to be my advocate. I often fail this ideal, I'm human.

I'm not blaming anyone or
I'm not blaming anyone or taking sides.

I love you but you make
I love you but you make assumptions about Jan and then attack her as if she were the assumptions you are making.
I just don't get it, you are better than that.
Philippians 4:8 (New American Standard Bible)
...whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
My love winks, she does not bother,
She knows too much to argue or to judge.
and Jan, why do you push her buttons? Is this a Jersey thing? I'm sure many people are enjoying the spectacle but are you two having any fun?

Oh Christmas Tree-
Oh Christmas Tree,I put it up,you fall on me!!Elmo you are a character!------now don't get angry at me!---I hope you've been well.I have been learning to walk again.Like a race horse in a swimming pool. The only difference being is that the horse still thinks that there's a race to win,and I'm a little less sure of that.I have no earthly idea what inspires me to keep going,"must be santa!"---or one of those little green things he called his elves!Best Wishes--jan
