Welcome Aboard
My friend came along with me for the first time, and his wife was being rather difficult, causing us to leave later than we should and eventually getting grass seats that were too far away to appreciate the Bob nuances. I was overly concerned about whether or not he would like the show, and as I can hear on my bootleg it was very strong. Unfortunately, it didn't come through as well for us due to our location.
I remember Boots being terrific. This was the era when Wicked Messenger and Drifter's Escape would interchangably take on a life of their own. I loved it when Duncan and Brady was the opener. However, I never really saw the need to do another cover in the middle of the show.
Soon the days of 22 and 23 songs would end.
I wish I could go to the concert again. It might have been one of the best ones for me, and I didn't know it at the time.
