The boys came out of the gate on fire. Lights out start to finish. Our friends joined us for the second time since Milwaukee a couple years previous, and I remember her dancing up a storm to a killer Tombstone Blues. We were probably 15 feet away from the stage dead center.

My other friend made the State Fair circuit and was rewarded on this night with one of his favorite's, Blind Willie McTell.

I don't know who was dancing more, Laura to Tombstone Blues, or Tony Garnier to Everything Is Broken. Where did this blast of sound come from? I Don't Believe You, wow could we have asked for anything else from this concert? I think the sound of it will hang in the air over Springfield forever.

Reliving my journeys has been therapeutic in many ways, but one forgets some things when there are so many wonderful memories. One is how strong Cold Irons Bound was during these shows. I don't think my memories of any of my life's experiences are as lucid as the ones that stick from the Bob shows.
