Every summer thousands of

Every summer thousands of backpackers head into the wilderness. All that activity takes a toll on our forests and on what you see when you get there. Here are a few tips on how to camp a little greener.

Plan ahead

Before leaving home, strip the packaging from your food items. You can re-pack everything in zip-lock freezer bags that will last for many trips and can double as garbage bags on the way out of the woods.

5 Star Show!

Bob closed out Rothbury in what was the most fantastic performance and set list to date on this part of his US tour.

Starting off the show with a guitar and adding a fist pump to Donnie after a rockin Highway 61 made you feel right up there with him.
I was lucky enough to be right up at the front to see every node and motion to the boys in the band who looked dapper in their polished suits and hats.

Ballad of a Thin Man was just rockin and it was great to get Jolene from his new album.

The crowd was hungry for more of course after the show was over showing that Bob and his band really struck some amazing chords with his fans. He seems to be in a great mood the whole show which radiated through the crowd.

What a way to end 4 days of camping and great performances.
Thanks Bob and the boys, I'll be back for more!

Greenist festival

Well I wasn't there to see Dylan, as he put on great set. I was very proud to be from Michigan. The people in "made Rothbury easily the most “green” major rock festival in history".

Early One Morning The Sun

Early One Morning The Sun Was Shining...

Bob and his band were very misunderstood at Rothbury. Alot of people were expecting something like his Greatest Hits. What they got was Pure Genius. Tangled was the best song of the WHOLE festival, they even played it just like the Garcia Band did in the eighties, without the female backup singers. Just goes to show how Bob can pay respect without speaking a word. Hearing him sing from Together was also a treat because it seemed like those were the songs he enjoyed the most. Also, seeing him with a gutiar, blowin on a harp, and then hittin the keys showed everyone that he still has the same musical prowess that he did 30 years ago. Thanks Bob, for a wonderful show.

i think dylan stepped up his game a bit for this show, knowing that the crowd had just seen the dead the night before...dylan jammed more than i have ever seen him jam before, even stopping to give donnie a pound after a particularly electric version of highway 61! this is gonna be a real good tour... senor was a treat too!

heart of mine be still

the full moon coming out of the ocean at dusk was a soft shade of pink, the breeze was gentle and the air was light. i noticed many pairs of lovers strolling down to the great lawn at beachfront north, where i walk my puppy. strange how the summer night was luring lovers out in pairs, arm in arm, walking the length of the boardwalk 2gether. if the night were a textile it would be velvet; so smooth against the skin, sensual and pleasant, still warm from the sun's heat of the day.

he summoned the rain . . .

You can't complain when the performer summons the rain and it stops on cue, hehe. The lake effect rain started sprinkling down during High Water (for Charlie Patton) and stopped at the end of the song. I guess God is on your side Bob, hehe.
