I have attended a few of Bob's concerts and this one was no disappointment, he still has his mojo working, what a spellbounding performance from the man in the long black coat "behind the shades!". After all these years and this guy still has it, "RIPE WITH AGE", thanks for the music Bob and looking forward to seeing you again soon, a true 5-star performance!!!! P.S. It's all good!

I attended the concert, and for the first time saw Ol' Bob play live. It completely blew me away. The atmosphere and venue was great and so were the people and music. I really like that it is on a baseball field, its sweet, and that you can get almost as close to the stage as you want. As far as the set list goes, whatever Dylan (and his band) feel like playing is fine with me, ITS ALL GOOD. My only complaint is that I wish it could have lasted longer!
JSB Far out an groovy setlist! The funky, dirty version of "Lay,Lady,Lay" was worth the price of the show alone! On the road to Bethel Woods and Syracuse shows. Can't wait!

Ok, where to start! I recieved advanced email from the Dragon ticket office, to get tics b/4 they went on sale to the public. For buying early, I feel I had crappy seats! Stage was so far away & we 4 rows up in stands down left field line. This is prolly not the place to vent, but did anyway! Now, to the concert- Wille was ok...not a big fan. Main attraction for me was Mellencamp. Was very disappointed about him not being able to have an encore.. didn't do any old Cougar tunes, but was good what he did play. Dylan music was awsome!! Never used this term b4, but music was "tight" - very solid, good, precise! I also heard in his intro, that BD had found Jesus, which in itself is cool! All this to ask this ques, is this the reason that he didn't play "Rainy Day Women" - everybody must get stoned? I think alot of people were looking forward to that, but I haven't seen much said about it. Am I that much outta tune with current events? Fill me in, you BD fans!
Good set list, nice to hear Lay Lady Lay. I am not a big fan of Willie Nelson, but I thought his set was quite nice. His son's version of Texas Flood wasn't spectacular (tough to cover a SRV song) but it was enjoyable. Mellencamp was loud and seemed lots of people were there just for him.
Bobby took the stage in his usual garb. Unfortunately I wasn't on the field so I couldn't see his face all that great. The vocals are what you get nowadays with him. For that first timer who went; did you expect him to sing like he sang forty years ago?? Nowadays, I try and see him only in very good venues, small, intimate places where everyone is close. I went to this one because I hadn't seen one of the minor league park shows so I was curious. The older songs were re worked, as they always are. Really liked hearing stuff from TTL. Jolene was good as was Nothin'. I always dig Lovesick.
All in all, a good performance, but at this point I am certain that non-Dylan fans will begin to rant about his voice and not being able to understand the words. I agree, if I didn't know Dylan as well as I do (his songs that is) I wouldn't have been impressed either.
Being at a Bob Dylan concert nowadays is to be in the presence of greatness. The atmosphere in the air when you are breathing the same air as Dylan is magical. If you want to see Dylan at his best now, you need to go see him in a small club. It's amazing still. Kill the lights and does Ain't Talkin'...classic

Thanks for the up-close info on Bob, it is always hard to be among the first 10-20 rows because there's "muscling" going on! Got to see him really up close in Louisville a few years ago at Jillian's parking lot and that experience was amazing. Guessing Bob probably does close his eyes sometimes when singing, alot of singers do. Did love seeing him on guitar the first couple songs though keyboards seemed strong at this concert, didn't notice the strange way he held the guitar just happy to see him playing it.
Also didn't see George Recile being confused during Rolling Stone, it sounded fine from where we were. Sometimes it's nice to sit back with the blankets on the field and a good pair of binoculars rather than right down front, though you can't beat that experience either. Did not see the sunglasses thrown on stage at the steel guitar player either but that's not cool. Have seen ladies undergarments thrown on stage when "throw your panties overboard" lyric is sung-kind of amusing. Love Bob's Victoria's Secret commercial to Lovesick, I'm sure fans recognized that.
I was amazed at all the fans in the seats, looked like a packed house and people on surrounding building rooftops and out windows too which was cool to see.
Was sad to read that a Dylan concert first timer missed the magic of seeing him live. You definitely won't hear the album versions of the songs except new ones, many of his songs are unrecognizable, he intentionally changes melodies and tempo which make it fun for veterans who have heard the traditional tunes for forty plus years. If you know the lyrics and have followed Dylan for years you appreciate the uniqueness of each concert.
If you get a copy of this show and listen to it again, you might realize what a great show it was. My first show got me hooked even more than I already was, guessing you'll catch one that inspires you in the future.
Last night I got to see Dylan for the first time last night and I have to say I was disappointed. The crowd seemed to love the show. First the band came out in gold jackets and black hats. Dylan in the opposite attire, they looked like the Blues Brothers.! However the band sounded excellent and far and away the best part of the show. Dylan's vocals were poor, he seemed to shout rather than sing the lyrics. His voice definitely shows his age. Either that or he had a bad cold.
I admit that my favorite Dylan is Self Portrait and before (say before 1972). While he did several songs that were from my era. But I did not appreciate the way he performed (Lay Lady Lay- Highway 61 revisited and All Along the Watchtower [I did not recognize!].
Finally, I know Dylan is the writer and composer of the songs, but there are songs that belong to us as much as him. His version of Like a Rolling Stone was nothing short of pathetic.
I know people will disagree with me and they can continue to encourage Dylan. I will choose to listen to my old Dylan albums. I am glad I got to see the legend, but I will tell you I have attended my last Dylan live performance.

I enjoy every moment I spend with Bob Dylan. I have looked forward to his show every year now since 1994. Last night I seen Bob at Fifth Third Field in Dayton.
Beforehand, Willie and Mellencamp took the stage. They both sounded great. I'm not sure what John was referring to when he said "no curse words on stage."? Did he at one time curse all the time up there? I'm not a huge fan, so I do not know. Also...., am I no longer allowed to call him "Cougar"? lol
Anyway....., Bob came out looking sharp as always. I always dig those dress pants with either the stars or stripes down his legs. This time it was a one-inch wide tan stripe that matched the color of his hat.
At first I thought Bob looked asleep while playing the opening, " Beyond here lies nothin' " tune. Bob were you playing with your eyes closed, lol? He seemed to wake up afterward and "Lay lady lay" sounded great. I have never seen Bob hold his guitar in that manner for the first two tunes. Do you guys agree? I always prefer Bob on guitar compared to keyboard.
Did any of you see the apparent confusion during "Like a rolling stone" with the drummer? Some type of feedback was bugging him from the speaker behind his drum set. Bob.... what was going on at that time?
The main point of this comment however, has nothing to do with Bob. It instead has everything to do with the multitude of idiots in the world. I felt extremely lucky to be in front of the stage last night roughly 15 or so people back. Inevitably, however, there are always those that think they must try to muscle their way to the front.
To make matters worse, at the very end of the show, this idiot standing next to me grabbed the sunglasses off his girlfriend's head and threw them onstage! I saw them hit Bob's steel guitar player in the chest. Did any of you also see that?
Wherever you go in the world there are humans. My only wish for my next show is that at least half of them with no brains lose their tickets.

Looked at reviews/setlists prior to the show, not sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised at the greatness. The energy of Bob in his 60's, Willie in his 70's, astounding, night off before this concert must have been restful because the show was fabulous, great sound compared to Covelski. Willie came out first and sounded beautiful as always, Crazy/Nightlife medley, Mama Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys & You Were Always on Mind-highlights for us. His son Lucas is hugely talented, has a Willie/Greg Allman-type sound and totally hot. Mellencamp's Pink Houses was fun among other hits you forgot til he played them well again. Intro for Dylan did not include the symphony music but had the "promise of the 60's counterculture" verbage, which is always a thrill to hear. So excited that Bob lead with Beyond Here Lies Nothin', my fave from the TTL album, don't think it was played on this tour so far. Other 2 from that album awesome, especially Jolene, all of TTL has a nice bluesy/rockin feel to it. Lay Lady Lay is a sweet surprise everytime, been a few years since I saw that one, each version gets better, love Highway 61 Revisited lyrics. Honest with Me & Beyond the Horizon are not faves but good versions. Summer Days-rockin', great to hear in the summer. Most amazing to us was the version of Make You Feel My Love to the tune of Simple Twist of Fate, not sure many people caught that. Bob was in black with summer green shirt and wide rimmed white hat circa RTR 75 tour (pictured on my daughter's t-shirt:) Great first-time Dylan concert experience of our friend who most enjoyed Like a Rolling Stone & All Along the Watchtower, classics. We like the upbeat tempo of this set list, no slow ones which are great songs, but the rockin' versions make the live dancing more fun. Crowd was fun, we took a lawn blanket like those around us; plenty of cold beverages and port-a-lets on the field so you didn't miss a thing. Look forward to the next show that comes our way-an annual mecca, this year more memorable than last. Keep on rockin' Bob, it's not dark yet!

The old man seemed to have found a good groove, stuck with it, jammed through an absolutely outstanding show, and looked like he was enjoying himself and his very enthusiastic audience. At least from my perspective on the field, fifty feet from the stage, monster-walk dancing through Love Sick, and sweating with a good crowd. W/R/T the critic who found the song selection somewhat limited: without doing the real research to be able to be certain, I would guess we heard at least, what, eight albums represented. (Anybody want to do the count?). Excellent Bob show, by any standards; worth finding a place to get off my feet through John Hoosier Melonhead.
Besides the almost permanent members of Bob's set list, Lay Lady Lay was the only song that was recorded before Time Out of Mind. Not to say that any of these are particularly bad songs, it just seems that there was no variety in the set list. It seemed to be that he was really compensating for the different vocal style that are present in his newer albums. When he sang Lay Lady Lay, it sounded like Tom Waits was gargling gravel and straight whisky.
