Mind Blowing

5

The majority of the day time was kind of torture with the over 100 degree Texas heat, but it was all worth it to see Bob. I went with my Mom (been a fan of his music for over 40 years), who has played his music around me since I was born (I am now 23). This was such a special show to see because I was able to experience it with my Mom! We were lucky enough to be in the second row from the stage, right in Bob's view. It blew my mind how we were only feet away from him and his band. What an amazing show! It is a shame there were some annoying people in the audience screaming stupid things at him and taking pictures when they did not want that. I wish people would show some respect. We tuned all those people out to the best we could though and enjoyed the hell out of the performance. I loved that he played various songs from the span of his career and the new stuff. I absolutely love the new album "Together Through Life" and thought they did a great job performing "Jolene", "If You Ever Go to Houston", and "I Feel a Change Comin' On". His band was excellent. I hope he keeps them around for a long time. Thanks for a great show and a good time Bob! I can't wait to see you again when you return to Dallas!!

"Ring them bells"

I saw Bob and Sang with Bob under the stars and and full moon last night in Grand Prairie, TX. It's the closest to heaven I've seen in years. He sang Things Have Changed, and If You Ever Go To Houston, which I really wanted to hear and GPTX was the last of 3 shows I saw this week. It was a hoot and a howl, complete with the full moon (or very close to it) all three nights. "Them I won't forget, but You, I'll remember always". "May Your Heart Always be Joyful May Your Song Always Be Sung..."
Your love/truth is the water in the desert, and the rain after the fire. Thank-you, dear poet-lauret. Together Through Life with you is the medicine needed for a scorched earth policy. OMG. I can't express it any further. How does it feel? Life heaven on earth, last night.

---------------later, more thoughts on the night---------

The moon was full. The sky was clear. The stars shined brightly. The master artist rocked the ballpark. Heaven opened up to me when he played Things Have Changed and then I was again blessed by hearing If You Ever Go To Houston, as those were the two songs I really wanted to hear, that I had not heard on the two previous nights. He sang my sadness to the world, too, when he sang, "Put my tears in a bottle; screw the top on tight. If you ever go to Houston, boy, you'd better walk right." I took my binoculars and got to look right into those beautiful blues. Mmmmm. Awesome.

As the world grows ever darker, his lyrics will keep me in the light of what I can still remember of the place I love best. Because, I know I am not the only one that sees it. It is discussed by almost nobody. The distance between right and wrong breaks down further as time takes us for this ride into darkness. But we know. So ring them bells for all of us who are left. And "for God's sake, take pity on yourselves".

This was the last of the three events I attended this week, my one week summer vacation. I will never forget my three nights with Bob under the stars in Round Rock, Corpus Christi, (beach was wonderful but don't spread the word) and Grand Prairie. I was so happy I cried. That pretty much says it all.

I drove 900 miles to see Dylan three times this week. He rocked, I rolled (as in driving 70 MPH) and we shared 3 hot summer nights together for an hour or so.

Dylan is like a fine wine; he just gets better over time. Long live Dylan. I love the Mexican flavor to the Houston song. Viva Bob Dylan. Te amo. Esta mi amor. Voy con Dios, mi amigo. I'll try to find your gal for you, so I can be your pal.

Forever,
Your pal. (maybe a lamb, but not a sheep)

P.S. If you are ever in Dallas, call me, I'm Marianne... I'm the one with my finger on the trigger, holding on the best I can.
P.P.S. Keep on touring. We need the jobs!!!! (And We Love YOU) "Ring them bells, for all of us that are left" Ring Them Bells - Bob Dylan

Awesome Concert

This was the best Dylan show I have attended over the last 20 years. The sound system was excellent and I could hear every word and note. I hope Bob enjoyed it much as we did. It was a pleasure to be able to see him again. I can't wait until next time.

put some sugar in my bowl..

This final Texas concert(for me)was everything I was hoping for. I loved the way he seemed to really be enjoying himself, as I know how much I enjoyed dancing and attempting to follow along with him. ;) It was a true honor to see him so close 3 nights in a row, and I'm pretty sure I've fallen in love with him from such an experience. Thank you Bob.

p.s. You need more recent pictures on this site, you are MUCH sexier now.

First, to my three Alaskan-buddies, who arrived shortly after me & waited with me on line in the pre-sale line, thank you, for your wonderfulness, and for making the time standing out there in that hot, Texas sun, so much genuine fun and therefore so....entirely endurable! Thanks for holding up that silly silver space blanket, over us all. Your kindness will always be remembered, by me. May God, who made, loves, and saves us ALL, bless you guys in a big way!

Just to be at one of Bob's concerts, has been one of my life-long (just about) dreams. Now it has come true. I feel so happy to have been to at least, one now. And this one....the time was right.

sidenote: I do hope that girl with the tattooed-arm will be able to pass that gift I gave her along to Bob.

I felt so much joy being right there, center-front stage, to see you, Bob, with my newly-certified music-teacher daughter, standing there with me in this dream of mine. Fun...fun, to take her to where I came from musically, to where she is now in her life, to go on and bless so many children with a love for music.

But back to the concert...you were maybe, 20 feet away? :) :) :)That may sound silly really...and it is to me, too. But still, I felt blessed (happy) to have even been even that close. May God bless you dearly, head to toe.

Thank you for your contribution and the sharing of all the changes/etc. you have experienced. We are still ~out there~ listening.

At least I know, I am.

Brother.

What a show!!!!

Having not seen Dylan since the 1974 tour with The Band, I really was anticipating this show and did not wind up disappointed in any way. Fortunately, I'm not one of those that think Dylan stopped creating great music after Blood On The Tracks, and have most of his material from the mid 90s on. So I have no problem with 60-70% of the material not being some of his "greatest hits", since so many of the songs of recent vintage are so brilliant. But I hadn't seen him live, and had heard many conflicting reports about whether he could put on a great show. Let me tell you, the man still brings it at 67, still knows how to bring an audience to its feet and make people go home happy. From the opening of "Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat" (am I the only one that thought the arrangement was a bit of a tip of the hat to Beck's cover???), the show plain out rocked. Starting with that rocking Leopard Skin, it became clear that the genre for the night was good old rock and roll. No blues or country renditions tonight. Each of the songs were played as rockers, and as a result, the joint rocked. I happened to be sitting in an area that was all over the place demographically, but the folks in my 50-60 age range were grooving on the new stuff as well as the few old tunes, and there were at least 20 folks nearby in the 20-30 range that were grooving on the tunes just as much!!!! So for me, the show was all I could have wanted and more. To see a living legend, still on top of his stuff, and just making the joint rock, made it a special night for me.

You'd Better Listen to the Man with the Star...

Thunder on the mountain, rolling like a drum...

Gonna sleep over there, thats where the music's coming from

I don't need any guide, I already know the way...

Remember this, I'm your servant both night and day

Bob Dylan was amazing!

I was front and center. He was amazing! I truly enjoyed hearing his voice. He rocked the stage with his amazing performance. I had no problems at all since I was so close to him :) This was my first concert to attend and I will be attending a lot more!! Overall, his uniqueness, voice, charm and rockin brought his performance to be amazing. He is truly a genius and I love him!!!! Love ya Bob! I will definitely see more of you!!!

His Voice

Don't get me wrong.. I was thrilled to see him. And I agree with the magic comment. He still had a rough voice. I agree he has gone to more of a growl but last night he was struggling. Still a great show. Wonderful to see him doing new song and breathing new life into old ones.

Glad to see the great reviews

For me the reason to see him in person would not be the voice but the person, the artist, the icon.
I mean to meet Winston Churchill at the end of his life would have been far greater: the knowledge and experience. Not to mention he wrote a lot of books. To meet Ghandi at the end : same after the struggle and the journey: connect into the wisdom, the product of it all the peace.

To meet Einstein before E=MCsquared would have been a night mare of the greatest proportions. Confusion and absorbtion to insanity until he figured it out.

I don't even know most of his songs but I travel the world and can dine with Kings and Queens so for me to see him in person would be to see the" pro" just do it comfortably, enjoying his craft, like watching Merlin after a lifetime of wizardry just being a Musical Merlin.

Almost 2000 years the legend of Arthur and his knights lives on because it happened. It was real people fighting for freedom of the Britons.

After a writing career so prolific and distinct as Bob Dylan's
who amongst the crowd chooses to be disappointed??

It is a choice in life to be a part of a moment that will never repeat in history or not seize the opportunity.
I may go in Hollywood and stand just to see the "being" that created so much.

I am not used to standing with the masses or the madding crowd. But I may just do that to experience something that few people are lucky enough to.

A genius willing to still ( yes he and his many employees earns a living at it) connect, give, create magic like Merlin until his last breathe.

Very few men are as strong, as capable, have endured his own humanity , weaknesses, mistakes, and achievements in the public eye for a life time , for decades of change, Can still be part of the "modern" and the "past" and the "present"
still find the energy, a reason to give, a reason to tolerate the masses, be a gentleman.

Create anew, still have tricks up his sleeve.

THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH MAGIC IN THE WORLD IN ANY GIVEN ERA.

At this stage to pay and go see him is the privilege to grab for the magic before it's time is done.

How many billions of us are on the planet and how many of us have done what he has done??

I am amazed when I see bad reviews or disapointment.

I am not the woman at 55 I was at 17 or 20.
No one is.

His existence with all of his flaws is so unique that each and every crowd should be breathless to the end .

I don't think America realizes what we as a nation have lost.
The video on my page of fans just wanting to shake his hand and kiss him: sums it up.
He is a one of a kind National Treasure to be treasured.
His children are a marvelous legacy with gifts but there will only be one him. Only one him. Only One Dylan.
Magic always has a short run in Human history. History has proved that.

Splendid show

Bob rocked it! This show was awesome! I think that his voice was fine - if you had only ever listened to his new albums, you would have expected exactly what you got last night. He played a great mixture of new stuff and old stuff, which for someone like me that will put all the hundreds of Dylan songs on my iPod on shuffle, was awesome! I couldn't have expected much more. Well, I guess if The Band was playing with him, but I digress. When I saw him in 1992 the concert seemed forced, last night I firmly believe Bob was out there having fun, doing what he loves to do, what he was born to do, and what he does best - trying to put some meaning behind the words, drums, guitars, and bass. The concert was so great I honestly thought, "Can I get to Lubbock by 4pm tonight?".

AS ALWAYS, DYLAN ROCKS!

Bob's voice sounded fine. It's typical of his live performances. Over the years, his voice has become less nasal and twangy and more of a low growl. Sure, it sounds a bit rough and less well-rehearsed as does a lot of aging performers. I was stoked to see Bob again after letting about fiftteen years pass since I last saw him open for the Grateful Dead. Needless to say, he didn't disappoint. His band rocks as he's always assembled the best collection of musicians to back him up. He spends less time now on his guitar and more on the keyboards --whatever turns your crank, Bob. His career has taken quite a remarkable turn this past decade. His songs are as relevant as those he wrote in the 1960s. Check out his recent recordings from Love and Theft onward. We should count ourselves lucky for this opportunity to experience such a legendary figure of our time.

Mixed Feelings

This was my first time to see Dylan. As he hit stage I was very excited. The thrill of seeing an icon live on stage was wonderful. The band played great but Bob's voice was very rough. It seemed to improve as the show went on but then took a turn for the worse. It seemed he was struggling to even get the lyrics out by the end. My excitement turned to feeling sorry for him. He was doing his best to finish the show but his voice just wasn't there. The set list was a great mix of old and new with great new arrangements for classics like Don't Think Twice

It was still a great experience that I wouldn't have missed for the world. The opening Willie set was very nice as he played to a home town Texas crowd and seemed very happy to be there. John Melloncamp did a great set that really got the crowd going and up on their feet. His voice was as strong as ever and had great energy.

Thank you Bob for giving all you had!
