Thank you Bob and Co. for making the Lubbock show happen. We drove from Dallas to see this show in our hometown. To hear you guys play Not Fade Away was the highlight for us.
Great sound too.
The show was great, the people were not.
My wife and I drove 500 miles each way to see Bob Dylan with bonus performances by Willie and John. Their introduction acts were first rate, but the audience around us didn't know how to act in public--constantly talking/yelling across the seats to each other, popping up every few minutes to get beer that they spilled on spectators on their return. One 'couple' were heavily into pre-coital rituals during most of the concert and were finally asked to leave by security. The good news is that most of these morons left after the Mellencamp set and we were left practically alone among the 40 seat section around us to fully absorb the Dylan performance. His voice was a little rough at the beginning, but it grew stronger as the evening progressed.
With a nearly full moon rising over the stage, ithe setting was perfect to take it all in, the present along with the past 38 years of Bob Dylan music. A stunning moment came at the encore when he started with Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away", a heartwarming tribute to a short lived career that changed so many lives. The band is supurb, tight, and abjectly professional.
We didn't let the behavior of a few ruin a long driving weekend, but we will have to think long and hard before we consider traveling to Lubbock for any future events. That is, until some citizens of Lubbock learn how to act in public. Parents, don't let your children grow up to be morons--teach them some respect for the performers and those around them.

Last night was, by far, the best of the 6 Bob Dylan shows I've seen. Sitting in the fourth row, dead-center, hearing Bob open with Maggie's Farm, open the encore with a Buddy Holly song (in Buddy Holly's home town) was just amazing, and closing with my new favorite version of Watchtower was, in a word, unbelievable. I think Bob was in the best mood I've seen at a live show. He moved all over the stage, played his harmonica with zeal, and his band was just great. Believe it or not, he actually almost danced during the encore. Having seen pretty much every band (or a reduced version thereof) that I'd like to see in my lifetime (including Roger Waters, Simon and Garfunkel, Page & Plant twice, Neil Young solo, Dylan 6 times, and a Jerry-less Dead), I believe that last night's show has landed itself in the top two shows I've ever seen. Well worth the cost of the tickets.
simply amazing
AMAZING SETLIST! this was only my second time to be in the presence of Dylan (nite before in Grand Prairie was my first) I cannot express just how special this was. His amazingly talented backing band was dressed in their white suits and black hats, and Dylan in his black suit, crimson shirt, and white hat. Dylan was in good spirits, moving and grooving around the entire stage blowing into his harmonica with gusto and making his way back to the keys which he played with enthusiasm and swagger. My highlights of the night had to have been Lay Lady Lay, Blind Willie McTell (which sounds nothing like the recorded version, which I absolutely loved! it was amazing), and Workingman's Blues #2. Actually, the entire setlist was truly flawless, all the songs were highlights and I couldn't take my eyes off of Dylan. I would have liked to have heard Forgetful Heart, but I am not complaining because this show was truly an experience I will never forget. Was surprised by the different encore, with Not Fade Away instead of Jolene... Encore was great, as soon as Like a Rolling Stone began the crowd rose to their feet and everyone sang along, Then Bob presented his band, played All Along the Watchtower, took a bow and left like a ghost in the West Texas night.
Wow!
This set list is AMAZING! I only wish I could've made it out for this show as well, I'm sure it was quite the experience..keep on rocking!

Super Set! I've had the good fortune of being a number of Bob's shows over the past two decades, and tonight's rendition of "Like a Rolling Stone" has got to be the best I have heard! Thank you for coming to dusty Lubbock! Safe Journey!
