You better not go to

You better not go to whatever this was a "warm up" for b/c it will melt your face off. This was a great show. Charlie Sexton has once again injected some new (old) energy into the band. Man In Me was special...Bob enunciated more than I have heard him in some time and to a beautiful effect...absolutely wonderful version. Stuff off the new album was great, Workingman's Blues hit a nice chord in Detroit too. Just a spectacular, spectacular show. The band totally ripped on Highway 61, Thunder on the Mountain, and All Along the Watchtower. Only drawback to the whole thing was a small part of the crowd who mostly seemed to be sitting in my section, were upset that anyone would stand up during a concert. They screamed "Sit Down" for a few songs and then ushers came along and tried to make people sit down. Lame. Annoying for a few minutes and then Dylan and company would kick it into high gear and all annoyances were forgotten. I'm not old enough to have seen Dylan back in the day, but I've seen quite a few shows over the last decade and as far as I can tell, I watched a performer at the top of his game in Detroit. I just can't say enough about how good this show was.

yes i love that song, my fav he didnt play yet on tour

Man, this is one of the better setlists i've seen for awhile. Still wonderin' about whether he does anything off "Blood on the Tracks" ever ?? One blogger several shows ago commented that they thought the song rep off the core group of songs that he plays every night, may be upwards of 100 !! I earlier thought maybe 30. Anyway as a half-arsed musician, it is my greatest interest in these matters. I like spontaneous just as much as anyone else, and I factor that into the experience when it is done. Thank god for that !!! I've seen hundreds of shows in dozens of cities (not all Dylan, of course) and I can appreciate the artist who cares enough about their fans to play the songs and setlist in that way. It's like he's always taking the fans requests everynight, but in a more subtle telepathic way.

Shake shake mama like a ship goin' out to sea..
