I agree -- Highway 61 was barely recognizable. And Like A Rolling Stone is really pointless unless he sings it properly.

Great Night!

I've been to MANY concerts before but never have I had a frightened usher come to each section before the show and plead with everyone not to use flash photography "or Bob WILL walk off the stage... I promise you!" Ha!

Well, aside from that, it just doesn't get any better than Bob's band. Everyone, including old Bobby, was in top form that night (which was a treat for me since I had yet to see him on "a good night").The entire show was worth it to hear that killer version of "Cold Irons Bound"! My jaw hit the floor with that one, man! Plus the guitars and intensity of "Ballad Of A Thin Man" was simply out of this world.

i was at all 3 show at the wang

all the shows were great, seats in the orchestra were excellent. the set lists were the best on fri and sat. sunday was excellent also, but liked the 1st 2 the best. no one could ever say anything wrong about dylan to me. he is excellent no matter what he does. i will follow him forever.

are you joking

dylan was great, fantastic as usual. if you're looking for the old style dylan, you obviously aren't a real fan. dylan is forever changing styles, lines, verses and no one can expect him or anyone to stay the same for 40 years. dylan rocks and is the best forever in my eyes and the eyes and ears of many others. this isn't hate mail, but you should think before writing.

First Time Around

There was no better way to burst my rock concert cherry than with Bob Dylan, and no better venue in which to do the deed than the Wang Theatre, which was, incidentally, also where I burst my ballet cherry (The Nutcracker in '93) and Broadway musical cherry (Miss Saigon in '97).

I have no idea why it took me so damn long to see Dylan, but I'm glad I finally did. It was worth every penny of the extortionist prices charged by Citi Center's online ticket office, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Stellar set. Superb sound. I couldn't have told you which was my favorite Dylan tune before this concert, but when the backlights dimmed and the footlights beamed on and the chords rolled out to "Ballad of a Thin Man," I knew. It was like a kick to the back of my brain and a punch to the gut. Bob Dylan beat me up and I loved it.

I don't want to recover; I want him to do it again.

Bob Sinatra Crosby Martin Dylan was great. A 68 year old guy stepping to the mike and singing like a kid would at a talent show. No better band could be found, and who knew this was a fan club? Best seats money could buy, at face value, thanks for everything Bob.

Personally, I loved the concert and I'm really glad I went but I feel like it could have been so much more. I had never seen Bob in concert, and when the lights went down and the band came out, I was pretty rev’d up. I was awestruck through the first two songs, even though the sound was crappy. They got that straightened out eventually to the point where I could understand the lyrics of “Workingman’s Blues”, which was my favorite part of the night. Ballad of a Thin Man was also a highlight - the haunting melody came through darkly, the vocals were strong, and there was even a little bit of a crescendo in that song. I loved watchtower because the second guitar player ripped off a great solo after the first verse, and also for some reason Bob omitted the last verse and sang the first verse again, which had the interesting affect of having the song (and the concert) end with “None of them along the line know what any of it is worth”. But where was the signature hook in Jolene? Where was the melody in Like a Rolling Stone? And how come Highway 61 sounded like a noisy romp?

OK, enough from me, I’ll probably get hate mail for this one.

Bob at the Wang

I was at the show last night in Boston, what a treat. I bought a ticket the day before through the box office, 10th row center. I have been listening to him since high school, I've been to about 15 shows. I hadn't been to one for several years. This was one of the best. Charlie Sexton is a great guitar player, and that made the show. Bob was very animated, smiling, dancing and having a great time. I will be there again on Sunday night with my wife and son, and hope to hear a few different tunes.

Top Notch Sound

Seeing Bob at the wang theater was amazing),ve seen him 10 times previous and this was definitely the most ALIVE and animated I have ever seen him he stood up and waved his hands around and did some very enjoyable harmonica solos. The sound was the best I have ever heard and ruined me for any future shows not in a theater with acoustics as this theater had.In previous shows it was sometimes not often but sometimes difficult to figure out what song they were playing for the first couple verses sometimes as long as till the chorus of the song was sung because dylan is famous for changing the tempo of even songs that he had just written which was the case for cold iron and honest with me.But last nights show I could tell which song it was from the first notes being played. When I first walked in my seats were 2nd row dead center balcony way up and I was disgusted I thought it was about to be the worst show ever as this was the farthest back I had ever seen "The Man" but when the house lights went down and the smell of incense was in the air the fist chords of the guitar strummed and I had arrived in heaven on earth. So if anyone is close within 2 hrs driving from this show at this venue I would suggest purchasing a ticket you will not be disappointed

Eerie and transcendent

Eerie and transcendent, same hall I saw Bob in back in the day with the Rolling Thunder Revue. Instead of Tangled Up in Blue solo on a barstool, it was a mesmerizing Workingman's Blues standing guitarless center stage at the mic (having drifted over time from the topless place to the starlight by the edge of the creek). Bob's voice indeed had the blood of the land in it. Only one song on guitar but it was a beauty: "Girl from the North Country". Ain't Talkin' was better than the studio version! The crowd was a mix of old leftists, new age healers, working stiffs, teen curiosity seekers, and a few Mr. Jones types accompanied by a sword swallower or two. Thanks for the great show Bob!

I get the blues for you baby when I look up at the sun
I get the blues for you baby when I look up at the sun
Come back here we can have some real fun

Well it's early in the evening and everything is still
Well it's early in the evening and everything is still
One more time, I'm walking up on heartbreak hill

Shake, shake mama, like a ship goin' out to sea
Shake, shake mama, like a ship goin' out to sea
You took all my money and you give it to Richard Lee

Down by the river Judge Simpson walkin' around
Down by the river Judge Simpson walkin' around
Nothing shocks me more than that old clown

Some of you women you really know your stuff
Some of you women you really know your stuff
But your clothes are all torn and your language is a little too rough

Shake, shake mama, shake it 'til the break of day
Shake, shake mama, shake it 'til the break of day
I'm right here baby, I'm not that far away

I'm motherless, fatherless, almost friendless too
I'm motherless, fatherless, almost friendless too
It's Friday morning on Franklin Avenue

Shake, shake mama, raise your voice and pray
Shake, shake mama, raise your voice and pray
If you're goin' on home, better go the shortest way

Bob's been my favorite artist since I was 15, but I've never been to a concert! What a great (if slightly non-kosher) way to spend Shabbat! I'm unbelievably excited to see him!

Hoping to hear Girl from North Country and Highway 61 -- Two of my favorite songs:)
