SO glad to finally get to see Not Dark Yet! 18th time's a charm. Definitely one of the best set lists I have gotten from Bob, every song was stunning from beginning to end. 3 nights in Boston, loved Cold Irons Bound and Ballad of a Thin Man every single night.

Forgetful Heart was absolutely stunning, could not have sounded any better. It was also real nice to hear The Man in Me and Beyond Here Lies Nothin' was also very good and an improvement from Friday.

It was pleasant to have security more relaxed on Sunday as opposed to Saturday where we were told to sit down halfway through the FIRST song. I got to stand, dance, and have fun through the whole show on Sunday and it was a BLAST!! However, some people need to realize this is a rock concert, not the opera, and quit complaining about people who are trying to enjoy themselves. Bob loves seeing people standing and dancing around, why would he want to play to a room full of duds, sitting and half asleep?

It was a great show on Sunday night in Boston! We had great seats - front row in the mezzanine with nobody 'bobin' or weavin' in front of us.

We did think the band dynamics were a bit odd. We could clearly see a confining imaginary box that Tony was standing in - he even nudged Charlie out of his space at one point. And well, the whole band seemed like perhaps after 3 days in Boston, maybe they'd had too many friend clams or something.....I don't know....they seemed a bit disconnected at times. They were great at times and then off the mark at others. We love them regardless - so, who is perfect? We had a blast! So much for that stuff.......

Bob was so much the "Me, I'm just a song and dance man" as he professed so many years ago....His new center stage performance was overwhelming - Fun stuff at times countered with the dynamics and awesome wonder at his poetry and the depth of his interpretation of so many sages of the ages..... I wish I could grasp it all as well.......hey, but maybe I should 'Change My Way of Thinking...'
He was simply G-R-E-A-T!

My second show

Boston was my second ever Dylan show, after Pawtucket from the previous summer. It was a marked improvement - the addition of Charlie Sexton seemed to really energize Dylan, and the set list was almost everything I could have hoped for. Dylan and the band were on fire. Gonna Change My Way of Thinking, in my opinion, was a vast improvement on the album version. The trio of Tryin' To Get to Heaven, Cold Irons Bound, and and Not Dark Yet was unbelievable, and Forgetful Heart was spooky and haunting. Nettie Moore, Highway 61, and Ballad of a Thin Man were also highlights. To be fair, Baby Blue was weak, and Dylan's singing on Rollin' and Tumblin' was so slurred together as to be indecipherable. But other than that, I have no complaints, and can't wait to see Dylan again.

What he wore

My buddy told me the standard tight fitting western suit in black with a bolo tie.
These set lists are making me crazy, I can't decide which night to go this week.

Just great

Boy, what a difference between an outdoor stadium show like this past summer, and a great venue like the Wang.

The crowd was really into it (way fewer drunks than in the summer), and did anybody see the mosh pit going in the stage left balcony? Enthusiatic kids, great to see.

As for this old guy, the crowd around us was mostly older, and the guy next to us was a fountain of info, and the lady in front of us saw him in Newport in '65...pretty cool.

As for Bob, I was struck by his crooner-style stance, with his hamonica down and slightly behind him as he held the mike stand with his left...reminded me of a very young Bing Crosby!

Great show, and we liked the pacing from Cold Irons right thru Ballad...perfect.

well the one good thing about boston...

Sounds like a wonderful concert, and I hope that everyone in attendance enjoyed it so! Looking forward to hearing the stories, and I really am glad to hear that Mr. Dylan was enjoying himself so! It is wonderful to hear that he and the band seem to be having so much fun...It brings me great joy to know that they love what they do, and to hear them be so appreciated. If only I could have been there I would, but I don't even have a place to live...I just keep on keeping on, and in the end we all live (regardless of our physical dwellings) in the lyrics of such a brilliant man. Hope he is enjoying the New England nights, and I am once more looking forward to hearing everyone's stories of the event.
