Dylan and Jesus posted Jul 31 2008 by amerpy
I am beginning an entry to discuss Bob Dylan's journey of faith.
Obviously, there are only two people who can speak definitively on the subject: Bob and God. Dylan has been asked over and over again, "What is your religion?" or, "What to you believe in?" True to form, Dylan has never given a straight answer, they are always murky and cryptic. They are, nevertheless, answers. They require the listener to go and do the homework for himself.
I propose that Dylan is no less a born again believer in Jesus today than he was at the end of the 70's, singing such songs as "Saved" and "Pressing On." That if anything has changed, it has been the depth, and of course the duration, of his faith.
In this blog I will support that position by exploring his life, history and lyrics, and how they attest to his relationship to God and ultimately to Jesus, who changed his life.
