I’ve been collecting Bob Dylan’s music for almost three decades now, and I still can’t get enough. Following is a list (though not definitive) of the Outtakes from albums past. Also included are rare recording from sessions other than for official album releases.
Before “Bob Dylan” - Early Years - Late 1950s - 1962
These recordings are the earliest known of the young Robert Zimmerman. The recording quality is poor, and many are not complete, or simply excerpts from the full recordings, who’s origination and whereabouts are unknown.
John Bucklen Tape: This tape is actually from 1958, and is the earliest known recording of Bob Dylan. It features the efforts of young Dylan and a boyhood friend John Bucklen playing around with a reel-to-reel tape recorder. The songs are fragmentary and unlistenable at times. There are several bootleg recordings both on CD and cassette kicking around.
