I haven't been keeping this up for a while ... a bit busy. That's what happens when you retire. Not enough hours in the day to get it all done ... Bob's been and gone from Europe, he's been around the Baseball parks in the States ... but he has left us with some good music to enjoy both here and there ... especially in the last few days ... first in Lubbock, Texas, home of the legend Buddy Holly, Bob gave us his version of Not Fade Away. He's done it a lot in concert, I know, but he was in Buddy Holly territory so it was appropriate that he did it there.

Bob's tour of Europe 2009 is now over, much the pity*. He's back home in the States about to take off on another tour of baseball stadiums. I'm sure it will be good ... I saw him as I have already said in Dublin on May 5 and he was good; rockin' in fact and the band, too. George Recile probably deserves a medal for the effort he put in!

It's been a good month ... a new album which turns out to be quite superb ... Bob Dylan's Euro Tour 2009 reaches Ireland he puts on two great shows at the reworked Point, now called 02 ... I was at the first show on Tuesday, May 5, and it was a stonker (meaning very very good) ... he played a great selection of songs starting with a rocking version of Leopardskin Pill-Box Hat and followed that with a fine reworking of Don't Think Twice It's All Right. He had a large crowd on his side from the start ...

I'm still enjoying Tell Tale Signs and we get the news that Bob is about to produce another new album in a month or so ... gee, Jeff Rosen is keeping him busier. I'm looking forward to it, of course, but like a lot of Dylan followers I am still stuck in the past ... and that thanks to the photograph I put up today. It was taken in May 1966 at the Ritz Cinema in Belfast ... a wonderful theatre that is no more; now it's an anonymous hotel block. Back then it was an entertainment mecca ... nightly and daily picture shows ... and lots of great concerts ...

Well, it's been a while since I put finger to keyboard ... too busy, I guess ... not a lot to say or tell ...Tired up happy, probably sums up how I feel .. it's been an eventful year with illness, then retirement, then rejuvenation ... too much to say has happened ... but I am glad to be alive to be able to say that ... so many people seem to loose their lives at a moments notice ...they don't get a chance to reflect on what they are doing or planning to do ... just look at India, look at Iraq, look at Afganistan, Pakistan, England ...oh, all over the place ...

Now this one, I thot was Christ-like as well as Bob-like ... nice touches to it ... I love to see the original. Maybe someday ....Anyway, what have I been doing this weekend ... well, listening to a lot of Bob. Calgary, London Ontario, Kalamazoo and, of course, his Obama Night at Minneapolis which was just great. The band is sounding better each time I get to hear them and Bob is singing strongly and with some passion, I think ... The band may be in for a change with Denny sitting out to let Canadian hot shot guitarist Paul James take a lick or 2 ... he sounds good and lively.

That first one didn't come up as clean as I thought it would ... a well... let's see how this one does ...
