I believe this is the third time I have seen Bob on Halloween, but never have I seen such a happy-go-lucky, devil-be-damned Bob. Whatever shows may have been in the top five before, sorry former number five, you are out. This one was a real keeper.

Saw Bob and his band last night at Summerfest. We went with a travel party of seven. One person was unable to make it, and a young woman from Appleton gladly joined our contingent for her second Bob concert.
Bob was in good voice all night, taking center stage for the debut of Forgetful Heart. He delivered this song masterfully. It was one of two from Together through Life, the second being Jolene, which took the first spot of the encore set.

Made the trek to Milwaukee last night. It was kind of Bizarro World Bob. It was sort of like they were trying to get some type of swing or big band feel going.
Highway 61 blistered, but for the most part the arrangements were not like that. Stu played more electric guitar and had more solos last night, and Bob's keyboard was turned up on some of the jams. The guitars were all on the same side of the stage this time, opposite the keyboard.
Bob donned a white hat last night, by the way. Plain backdrop except for Girl of the North Country, and the Camera's Eye for the encores.

Well, the not so new CD has been on perpetual repeat for two and a half weeks. Here are some thoughts or aimless ramblings, depending on how you view it.
I love the piano demo version of Dignity. I think the version of Someday Baby on this compilation is better than Modern Times. And Red River Shore is priceless. The sequencing of those three songs together flows well.

I played around with adding some songs to the set list since I bought Tell Tale Signs because Red River Shore shot instantly to one of my all time favorite Dylan songs. Then I realized there were just too many songs for one set list, so I added some that weren't included that I had been toying with to my favorites. It's just an impossible task. Maybe the next time I play around, I will just list my the songs I enjoy the most live under my set and a bunch of others under favorites. Of course, that would include virtually the entire catalogue with a few exceptions here and there.
