Dylan's Effect On Me posted Sep 4 2008 by dsl89

Bob Dylan has certainly had an effect on this ninteen year-old college kid, who's typing this in his dorm room on a break.
Although I don't have all of his albums (I'm missing just "Good As I Been To You" and The Bootleg Albums), I love the ones I have and cherished them all. I do believe that "Blonde On Blonde" is his best album, but I have to admit, I love "New Morning", "Self Portrait", and actually most of his eighties albums.
Unfortunately, I haven't spent all of my life aware of Dylan. I mean, I grew up on classic rock, so I always got to hear the staples (although, why my local stations are infatuated with "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", I'll never know). I decided to endure a quest to completing his catologue after I bought "Blonde On Blonde" and "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" not only because I wanted to hear more, but I wanted to learn more about the man that was writing these songs and making this music. It is so unique and I must know a thing or two about unique, being a true die-hard Beatle and Beach Boy fan.
I love, and always will, his music. It's so endearing and timeless.
I also want to say: give "Empire Burlesque" a second listen...it ain't that bad.
