IT & Them
posted Aug 2 2008 by Fabe

I received this email last night:

"I just got busted by the IT Dept. at work trying to print your tour stats. They want me to find out if it's written to Mozilla or Firefox. It really jammed up our system and they had to manually reboot my system. It also crashes my home system, too." - Boston Area Bob Fan

She's referring to my Dylan Tour Stats page. Her predicament immediately made me think of the following, Lord knows where it came from.

Praise be to IT departments
The reboot starts at dawn
Everybody is shouting,
"Please, don't turn it on!"
And Firefox and Mozilla
Squat on desolate streets
While engineers hoot at them
And managers spread sheets
Between Windows and Mac OSX
No one really knows
So nobody has to think too much
That's just the way it goes.

If you are in need of a hard copy of Bob's latest tour song statistics you can simply highlight and copy the text from my page and paste it into a word processor. That works and it won't set your IT department off.
