why does bobby play christmas straight it is my belief that
he had no choice the chosen songs do not lend themselves
to tinkering and besides christmas is to precious to be played
any other way even if you are DYLAN also we neglect to believe
at the end of the day bobby is a believer also it is my belief that
this is a tribute album listen closely to drummer boy and we hear more than echoes of cash he says himself that must be
santa is is a steal christmas blues is an old dean martin number
and probably the strongest song on christmas in the heart so - Oct 20
just read an interestin review on slate brow beats blog page and it defines why dylan christmas album is very much in the jewish/christmas tradition and relates it to the likes of irving berlin
and streisand who have both entered this marketplace over the years the album i regard as dylan paying homage to all those songs he himself listened to and absorbed over the course of his childhood i think dylan is the last of this great voice of america and we should embrace his historical knowledge of a bygone age
lest we forget
