I noticed Bob's work a few years ago and was amazed to realize that so many of the songs I have loved are his.As well as many I did not know yet. I have been to a couple of his concerts and they are very addictive as the fans actually love him. It is the air at these concerts. But this the Christmas CD and the donations going to charity. WOW! When my daughter first learned that the myth of Santa was not so as she perceived it I sat with her and spoke of Christmas as I perceive it. I believe that Christmas or if you will Santa (or if you beleive Jesus) is a matter of the heart. You choose those special gifts to please someone. You buy it or make it with the money or effort that is yours; thusly giving of oneself to another. But I also taught her we give to others at Christmas. We have from that day forward always given to a charity on Christmas. But of course I (we) have never given in such a grand way. It must make him feel wonderful.
I would also like to add. The diamond begins as carbon (the essential element) and only after a million years and tons of pressure becomes a raw diamond stone .After this is must be given 58 facets before it is called a diamond. Dear Mr' Bob Dylan you are now a diamond in my eyes. I guess the pressure of your life's history has been a contributing factor but of course it is the individual way you have dealt with this that makes you, you.
I heard you are married. So my wish today is that your lovely wife will read this and give you a kiss for me. I also hope someone will buy this CD for me this Christmas. Because the sentiment that is attached to this CD is the spirit of Christmas. God Bless you Mr. Bob Dylan. What a beautiful, beautiful gesture!

Why Wait.
Hi there. Its nice to see so many Dylan fans in one place and i am delighted to join you all.. All i want to say is, why wait for the new album 'Chritmas In The Heart'. Although the cd itself is in the shops now, the delux addition wont be released till the 13th of this month which is now only 2 days away. When i first learnt of the new album i was so excited about it that i went straight down to my local music store to pre-order it. I only have 2 days to wait now. it's going to be a belter. take care all and a very early merry christmas :)
His current tour
this fall tour is going to be absolutely killer! I don't know about the other cities, but I know that in Los Angeles Bob is having Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, and John Doe opening for him. I can't wait!!!
Just Five More Days

hope it`s gonna sell a lot........be grateful and stay focused on the good vibes, what comes around, stays around.
Dylan got to possibilty
...so it`s great he uses it, comes great with the line you helped me out of poverty, all though I think he aimed at spiritual poverty in that song. Great Christmas present Bob.
Poetic...
I'm new here and love this post. It's quite poetic itself so the Dylan influence shows. ;-) Yes, the nobel peace prize would be awesome but I doubt Bob would give much about a statue. Then again he could donate all the prize money... :-)

awesome
AWESOME!!!!! :D :D
the arrow is straight and the point is slick
to write what he did at 22 years old and maintain the vision for 47 years, amazing indeed.

It's been a log time coming-
and a long time past due.If anyone deserves a Nobel Prize, Bob Dylan does, that's for sure!
Wow!
Clamour grows for singer Bob Dylan to be awarded Nobel (Feature)

Stockholm - Demands for the US singer-songwriter Bob Dylan to be awarded the highest prize in literature, the Nobel Prize, is growing - with one Danish professor outing herself as one of his backers in a newspaper on Sunday...
Professor Anne-Marie Mai told the Danish newspaper Politiken she had nominated Dylan for the prize - to be awarded next month - for his opus dating back to the early 1960s, which she said had 'renewed poetry.'
Mai said she was only 'one of many' who had nominated Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman in the US mid-west.
Can't Wait
I can't wait for the Christmas album. Just over three weeks away! Kudos to Bob donating the proceeds to charity.
Bob's music
He is certainly highly influential and has written a lot of masterpieces.
To those Who Are Missing the Point
I agree with the woman who made the post a few below this. But God is the truth and all that Christmas represents, not only our savior. It is important to see truth (which is God, "I am the way, the truth, and the life") in what is good (which if God created everything and said it was good and is in everything then all that is true is good.) Our salvation is merely another gift to us.
My Experience
I've noticed how true it is that through giving (which, for me, occurs most often at Christmas), I receive much more than anyone else could have given me.
It's the simple goodness of me realizing that a gift is more than just a sweater my grandma knitted me. It's a display of her sacrificing her resources to benefit me, while expecting nothing in return, but for me to accept it (and of course I do, especially cause I'm a sweater guy). However the second I put it on (this usually occurs momentarily after receiving it) and accept it, the gift I give back is that of pure joy. I know this because I've been in her situation (not exactly because I am not 83, married to a man, or even privy of how to knit).
I am always amazed when this happens but all I can do is accept even amazement and joy as a gift.

whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa nellie
stop right there! lets not confuse the meaning of christmas.
it is the birth of jesus christ the savior of the world. god so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believed in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
make no mistake about it. the word became flesh and dwelt among us. god is in the world.
