An example of what can happen when it comes to interviews...
posted Dec 20 2008 by javalogy

Celebrity X says: “I really don’t approve of those that toss their cigarette butts and trash out their car window. Littering our world is like abusing your own mother, or child, or lover. There should be stronger fines for littering.”

Reporter X writes up the story: “Celebrity X recently stated for the record that they '-- really don’t approve of those that toss their cigarette butts and trash out their car window. Littering our world is like abusing your own mother, or child, or lover.' They went on to say that in their opinion, there should be stronger fines for individuals that thoughtlessly pollute the environment."

News Media X interpretation and headline for the following day: “Celebrity X says Smokers Should Be Punished and Sentenced as Child Abusers!”

And the commercial media industry is surprised that many celebrities don’t enjoy giving interviews? Even when you really want to do a good interview, it often comes out either boring, or not ringing true, or not even what you approved for publication.
