I must be losing my mind. I could've sworn that Dylan was one of three guys that went jogging by the house today. They were all dressed in black sweatsuits. At first I thought they must be some kind of relay team. Strange as that would be (having a relay team jog past my door), Dylan going for a little run through the middle of NOWHERE neighborhood that I live in--that's really improbable. Nope. I'm obviously on the verge of some sort of emotional collapse. Hopefully the padded cell will be well padded indeed, so I'll have a nice, soft landing.

There are a bunch of great Traveling Wilburys photos at "Down the Highway" and it got me to thinking about the mini-doc about the Wilbury Sessions ("The True History of the Traveling Wilburys")--about how I need to watch that sometime again and soon--but also that I remember realizing as I watched that film, that Roy Orbison was the star among the stars--that all these famous musicians were all star-struck around him!

Yesterday was a good time with family and friends; my heart and tummy are still full!
I was browsing http://expectingrain.com/, and found this link there:
http://rockturtleneck.blogspot.com/2008/11/happy-thanksgiving.html
Some great video clips there. How could I have forgotten that "The Last Waltz" took place on T-Day, '76? Long ago, far away...but I like to think that those things (excellent celebration concert jam sessions) do and/or could and/or will happen, nowadays...

Just joined the forums at:
http://www.downthehighway.info/index.htm
It's a great site, with lots of interesting information and pictures that I haven't seen before anywhere else! I'm thankful to have made its acquaintance (many thanks to you, http://www.bobdylan.com/#/users/robert-zimmerman for telling me about it!). ^_^
Speaking of "thankfulness," as far as I can tell, the "Down the Highway" site was started by http://www.bobdylan.com/#/users/gilly -- so, many thanks to Gilly for creating a beautiful website!

Tomorrow Is a Long Time
If today was not an crooked highway,
If tonight was not a crooked trail,
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time,
Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all.
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin',
Yes, and if I could hear her heart a-softly poundin',
Only if she was lyin' by me,
Then I'd lie in my bed once again.I can't see my reflection in the waters,
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain,
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps,
Or can't remember the sound of my own name.
Yes, and only if my own true love was waitin', - Nov 20
Lucky New York, New York! Wish I could be at that Nov. 21 show! Looks to be the makings of a fine time in the ol' town that night...

For some reason, “Queen Jane Approximately” always reminds me of “Danny Boy”—just a little.

There is an audio clip posted over at YouTube of Dylan's performance of "Blowing in the Wind" at the Minneapolis gig on Nov. 4:

For some reason lately, when I hear Dylan singing, it doesn't matter what era it is--what stylistic conventions he experimenting with, all I can hear is his 19 year-old voice...I kinda groove on it, but it also a little worrisome. I love the way he used to sing, but I also love hearing some of his other voices/styles... And I'm not trying, here. I mean, when I was listening to "Most of the Time" and thought, "Wow, I don't know why I never noticed before, but this is one of Dylan's early songs!

Seems like Dylan is condemned if he does, and condemned if he don't. He resists publicly taking political positions, and some people say he is apathetic, but if he is perceived to be making any personal political associations, then other folks say he is out of line... or something.
