one of the local teeniebops is going away to college. i have been trying to convince her to put pretense aside and get with the bean program. you don't want to go off to school without a bean. there is a long tradition of beans. one wouldn't feel right without the bean. the bean is the means. where you bean?

lee marvin was born almost 84 years ago. i bet more people will know who lee marvin was 84 years from now than knew him at the time of his death. he is beyond immortal. he is f*&^%ing immortal. there will never be another lee marvin. they should have a big billboard over sunset or santa monica boulevard to advise all the young whelks of this fact. thank god for lee marvin.

i was reminiscing about the good old days, and how back then kids could just enjoy themselves with a dictionary and not worry about tv or video games. quaint, huh? like i bet allen ginsberg visited the office supply store more times before 1960 than most of us would in an entire lifetime. and he even bought typewriter ribbons...

ok, so let's clarify something: what's important in life. what's important in life is...PANCAKES! yes, that's right, pancakes. eat em for breakfast, eat em for lunch, just bring me a dozen, i'll eat the whole bunch...
love them cakes... - Aug 01

is it a coincidence or something more? twice in the last three days people i've run into casually, people i don't know, are observed to be muttering or even exclaiming "ay, caramba!" wow. i mean, i don't know if just no one was ever saying that before, or if i wasn't hearing it. but it there is suddenly all this "ay caramba" going on. maybe it means something. i don't know. anyone got any ideas?

There was this one show that was really funny. Bob was up there playing TUIB, and this dude materiallized onstage. He had to leave directly.

I was driving home today, thinking about how come they don't play more Bob on the radio. I wish I was a program director. I'd play Bob, for an hour at a time.
