Dylan Fans Watch Out For One Another posted Jul 15 2009 by marianne1983
I saw Bob at Summerfest in Milwaukee 2 weeks ago on July 1st. The next day at lunch I realized my wallet was missing, and feeling my initial gut reaction, concluded that I had indeed lost it the night before amidst the chaos. I took the proper steps, canceled my stuff, got new stuff, etc. Again, 2 weeks passed and I gave up hope.
This afternoon at work I received a message from a phone call that came in for me while I was in a lunchtime meeting. It simply read: "To - Marianne, From - Steve, Msg - I think I found something at Summerfest that belongs to you." I was overcome with excitement! I returned his call immediately.
He said he found something, with the identifying information being mine, and my business card in my wallet leading him to call my place of employment to track me down. Apparently his wife had found my wallet on the ground outside of the Marcus Ampitheatre, where she show had taken place. They had tried to mail it to the address on my driver's license but it got sent back to them, as that is my mom's address and no longer recognized as mine. He called me to ask what my current address is so that he could ship it properly. Him and his wife were in Milwaukee for the Dylan show as well.
I am eternally grateful for this couple's honesty and kindness. It's a horrible feeling, thinking you've lost, well, essentially the life you keep in your wallet. My faith in humans was reinforced and restored. Thank you, Steve and wife, for being great humans.
