7/29/66, the date of Bob's alleged/purported/claimed motorcycle accident in upstate New York. Did it happen, was it serious? Who knows. Maybe Bob was looking for a way off the fast freight train he'd been on for the last few years, or maybe it was the finger of providence that flicked him off the bike.

Regardless, he got a few years' rest from the deal, and came back with the first of many surprises in the form of John Wesley Harding. There would certainly be more surprises along the way.
