I am excited for my first listen of the new album. As a fan, I have no doubt I will enjoy and appreciate whatever it has to offer me.
Yet I always go into a new release a bit hesitant. It has been the Philharmonic show, Modern Times, and all those other albums from recent years that I have done this with.

do you ever stay up all night?
do you ever do so against your might,
despite the fact it isn't right?
do you feel the tiredness
and feel the pain,
but stay awake just the same?
do the responsibilities & obligations of tomorrow
seem so plain?
do you use all attempts to keep today from the drain?
do you hate yourself the morning after, but stop to
remember all the laughter?
is rolling out of bed and accepting the alarm
making you think you should have stopped with
"Maggies Farm?"
do you push onward anyway,
knowing if you hadn't
it would have been a normal day?11-6-08

I was in some sort of school work hell previously and had not devoted the attention to Tell Tale that I should have. Now with the greatest conviction I can say that this is one hell of bootleg!
While I have listened to all three discs, I have presently been stuck on devoting all listening time to disc 1. I have a hard time getting past "Mississippi" and moving on to the other tracks, so of course I can't ever get to disc 2 and 3.
And man, does this stuff sound good alone in the car or what? You can turn it up loud and just drive.

$139.98 after shipping! What the heck is going on? I'm a loyal fan so if you throw out a hook, you'll probably catch me. I dropped 20 bucks years ago for the Gods and Generals soundtrack- all for one song, and one video. But seriously, you only got an extra disk and a picture book (which pages have already come out of mine) for an extra 100 bucks. Its good, but really? People like me still need to eat when we are hungry, and drink when we are dry.

So who does the Jester justice?
Peter, Paul, and Mary probably best known for John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane," do a great "Too Much of Nothing." (Basement Tapes) It is an amazing cover, although with a very different sound than the Bob take on it.
While "All Along the Watchtower" may have gotten taken over by Hendrix...the Brewer and Shipley version is worth a listen! Beautiful actually.
Johnny Cash and "It Ain't Me Babe" is enjoyable but not a rare gem.

Bob contends in "Dont Look Back" that he is a good singer. I agree, Bob is. And the others...
Roy Orbison could sing Camptown Races and it would probably sound beautiful. He is the prefect example of a good singer.
Janis Joplin- my mom can't stand that sound. However, Janis too is a good singer. But unlike Roy, it is not the sound of the vocal, but the way she sings it.
Sir Paul I must admit is both good with vocals alone and the way in which he sings. "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" on Anthology 3 shows the flexibility (all in one song) of what he can do.

Four years, 30 bucks, lots of looking, and an extra vinyl copy later…
I secure an original Glaser. Finding it on the internet would not have been the same, I wanted to find one in an album and in a genuine record store. It took some time, but I did it. I’m so happy. I was just thinking about this poster the other day, and lo and behold after years of looking, the odds were finally in my favor. Love to Kief’s.On another note, love the bootlegs in the new video! Classic.

I have always gotten an image of what the "Tambourine Man" was about. My mind saw a dad tucking his child into bed, telling him the story of the "Tambourine Man." The child wasn't sleepy, and wasn't going anywhere. I guess in a sense, the dad telling the story or singing the song, was the "Tamboruine Man" himself.

"Stranger days were to come and the end of the dream. But what remains is somehow the same. Getting unravelled is what it's about, breaking on through, and rolling on...take the highway...make the journey...to the end of the night...to the other side...roll on...ride on...run...run...run..."
