I was in some sort of school work hell previously and had not devoted the attention to Tell Tale that I should have. Now with the greatest conviction I can say that this is one hell of bootleg!
While I have listened to all three discs, I have presently been stuck on devoting all listening time to disc 1. I have a hard time getting past "Mississippi" and moving on to the other tracks, so of course I can't ever get to disc 2 and 3.
And man, does this stuff sound good alone in the car or what? You can turn it up loud and just drive.
Anyway, back to the tracks! "Mississippi" is incredible & I give special highlight to "my powers of expression I thought so sublime." And as my dad has said, this is about as close as we are going to get a Dylan solo-acoustic type sound.
So raw. So real.
Initially I would have gone with the original "Most of the Time" over the disc 1 version, however, it has grown on me and I love it now.
"Dignity," the short piano demo is incredible. When Bob's voice comes across I feel like he is going to jump out of the speakers...I'm always disappointed when he fails to...."Someday Baby!"
I actually prefer this version of "Someday Baby" to the MT version. I like the change up in lyrics. Personal preference I suppose.
"I never did get that far with the girl from the red river shore..." great slower song, "Red River Shore."
I could go on...but I won't.
Ahhhhhh...Bob.
All my love. (to Barack as well)
