$139.98 after shipping! What the heck is going on? I'm a loyal fan so if you throw out a hook, you'll probably catch me. I dropped 20 bucks years ago for the Gods and Generals soundtrack- all for one song, and one video. But seriously, you only got an extra disk and a picture book (which pages have already come out of mine) for an extra 100 bucks. Its good, but really? People like me still need to eat when we are hungry, and drink when we are dry.
On the other hand, I had fun ordering it, I like the packaging, and it is only money...thus all is well. A good addition to the ever-expanding collection.
I feel like the Theme Time poster is a total rip off of Rear Window stories. Like 'Miss Lonely Hearts;" she is so in there sitting by the phone with little red hears floating above. I dig though.
I'm pleased it is getting rave reviews. Where were the Love & Theft outtakes (minus the TOOM 'Mississipi")? I have to wonder what comes next. The Basement Tape stuff seriously needs to be officially packaged.
As far as including the sountrack songs...great, but where was "Waitin' for You" off the Ya-Ya Sisterhood soundtrack? They had to leave that one out?? You can't even buy it as a single song off iTunes. I think there is a conspiracy.
Great piano version of Dignity. The contrast in various Mississippi's are enjoyable. The live songs are also great, I almost wish they could have mixed in a few more of those.
The notes in the book are okay...but it seems like he just took a lot of it out of Chronicles Vol. !. (By the way Bob, I'm still waiting for the two!) I think he could have come up with something a little more original.
Plus, I don't know that I like the personal commentary on each track. Some of the information is good to have, but I don't care that someone thinks that a track should be one to listen to a 3am. Let me figure that one out. I'd get there.
