Bob Dylan is the only artist from the past 40 years for whom I'm a passionate fan. My other music favorites include folks like Son House, Count Basie, and Beethoven. Maybe it's Dylan's connection with music roots that explains why I love his music so much. Or maybe it's his connection with the essence of what's important in life (like truth, faith, and God). Or perhaps it is his poetic genius. Probably it is a combination of all of the above. I discovered Bob Dylan five years ago when I was 18 when I first heard the song "Cross the Green Mountain". The lyrics were so astounding, I promised myself at that moment I would own every record Dylan released. I'm still working on that promise. I own all the studio albums, but I'm still working on the live stuff.
...Oh, and by the way. My username is more than just a username. Like Bob, I am the Property of Jesus.

"You ask me about myself, but I'm becoming less and less defined as Christ becomes more and more defined." - Bob Dylan (1979)
"Serve God and be cheerful. Look upward, beyond. Beyond the darkness that masses, the surprises of dawn." - Bob Dylan (2002)
"Jesus is coming! He's coming back to gather his jewels!... Oh Lord, you know I have no friend without you." - Bob Dylan (on the 2003 album 'Gotta Serve Somebody: The Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan')
"When the whip that's keeping you in line doesn't make him jump,
Say he's hard-of-hearin', say that he's a chump.
Say he's out of step with reality as you try to test his nerve
Because he doesn't pay no tribute to the king that you serve." - "The Property of Jesus" (1981) by Bob Dylan
