As the character list from Dylan's oeuvre continues to increase, I've selected only those that are named and compared those to the names found in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs. As expected, Dylan has more than twice the number of named characters: 346 to 166.

But there are some similarities as well; both collections contain quite a few titled names. The RS500 has Miss Annie, Miss Lotte Lenya, two Miss Molly's, Miss Moses, Mr. Biggs, and Mr. Jimmy. Dylan has Miss Delilah, Miss Lonely, Miss Lucy, Miss Mary-Jane, Miss Mousey, Miss So-and-so, Miss X, Missus Henry, Mister Bartender, Mister Clive, Mister Empire, Mister Hudson, Mister Jones, Mister Judge, Mister Minuet, Mister Rockefeller, Mr. Clean, Mr. Finley, Mr. Football Man, Mr. Goldsmith, Mr. Jinx, Mr. Pussyman, Mr. Smith, Mr. Tambourine Man, and Mrs. Cow.
