I talked with Bob
at this party cuz
he looked out of
place and I usually
feel sorry for wallflowers
being one myself.
And he perked up a bit,
looked at me sideways
with that forlorn
way he has
of seeing the world,
and I connected,
but didn't say nothin',
bein' afraid he wouldn't
believe me.
Probably hard for him
to believe much,
if anything. He tried once,
and I made sure he knew
I'd been born again
two months before him.
He nodded and smiled.
I felt stupid and thought
if it's this hard to be
humble in front of Dylan,
